Zen Yoga & Meditation
Zen Yoga – Based on Zen philosophy and the physical practice performed by the monks in Zen temples in preparation for sitting meditation.
Body alignment, awareness of the body sensations and flow of energy within the body are at the core of my classes. Physical movement is combined with mindfulness meditation and it is open to everybody without judgement or expectations of any kind.
Body alignment influences our state of mind. The correct alignment will facilitate the free flow of the energy or ki (chi, prana..) within the body. The human being seen as energy is emphasised. Bringing awareness in the body sensations and the areas of tension are very important to be able to release all the emotional stress accumulated in the body and therefore increase physical, mental and spiritual/energetic balance and well-being.
I love this quote as for me it explains what yoga really is and isn’t. “Yoga is not about touching your toes, it is about what you learn on the way down” -Jigar Gor
In my classes I like to honour the cyclical quality of nature, the seasons, the moon cycles… We are nature and as the rest of the planet we are affected physically and energetically by the change of the seasons, the stars, the moon, the sun….
I love this anonymous quote:
“ We live in a blue planet that circles around a ball of fire next to a moon that moves the sea, and you don’t believe in miracles? “
Zen Mindfulness & Meditation – Learn these techniques based on Zen practices. Whether you are a beginner or you have some experience of meditation, everyone is welcome. It doesn’t matter your religion or your beliefs, this practice is for everyone. The only thing you need to do is keep up with the practice.
There is more and more scientific evidence proving that mindfulness and meditation can help you physically and mentally. There are studies showing the positive impact of mindfulness and meditation on pain management, depression, anxiety, life enjoyment and many more.
I offer 8 week courses regularly where you learn these potentially life changing tools, as well as introductory workshops. The sessions are in groups and also 1-to-1 sessions.
